Scientific Committee – Call for candidatures

21 Nov

This year, the missions of the Scientific Committee will be not only to prepare the annual GMP Symposium (held on 16, 17 and 18 October 2019 in Lyon), but also to take part in the organization of webinars throughout the year.

Defining the scientific content of the sessions / webinars, identifying and contacting the appropriate speakers, as well as monitoring/chairing these sessions / webinars will be the main missions of the SC.

Usually, two 30-minute TC per month are required to discuss all together and ensure the coordination of all the actions, until the Symposium in October.

Should you be interested, feel free to send an email to contact@gmp.asso.fr to ask for additional information or to apply before the 7th of December 2018. Beware! The number of places proposed to participate in this Scientific Committee is limited!

Third European Training Course on Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Protein Therapeutics – Principles and Pharmacometric Approaches

13 Mar

The 3-day course is a shortened version of the course which has been given for the last eight years  by Prof Bernd Meibohm & Johan Gabrielsson in the United States, and it is organized in Europe for the third time under the aegis of AP2POP association.

During this course, you will be introduced to basic principles in the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic evaluation of novel therapeutic proteins and hands-on exercises in the PK/PD evaluation of these compounds. Topics include target-mediated drug disposition, tissue and tumor penetration, first-in-human dose selection, immunogenicity, clinical pharmacology challenges, biosimilars, and drug-drug interactions. The target audience comprises pharmaceutical scientists from industry, academia and regulatory agencies with basic knowledge in PK and PKPD that would like to receive a comprehensive overview or refresher on the PK and PKPD of this class of compounds. Hands-on exercises will be performed individually and in small groups using simple software tools (no prior experience required).

Attendance and registration:

The attendance will be strictly limited to 35 participants, allowing nice interactions. As well, a limited number of spots have been reserved for academia and trainees for one third of the price.

New year’s note from the GMP’s president

25 Jan

For 2018, the venue and dates of our next symposium have already been defined: it will take place in a prestigious location, the Institut Pasteur in Paris from 17th to 19th of October 2018. A Scientific Committee has been created which will work hard to create an attractive scientific program with surprises worthy of the event.

One objective of the GMP Committee is to increasingly involve you in the life of our association, as such we have decided to initiate the publication of a “newsletter” to reinforce our interaction with you and keep you regularly informed of our initiatives, activities as well as the implementation of the annual symposium. In addition, if you want to share your proposals and ideas with us, do not hesitate to post them via our communication channel contact@gmp.asso.fr.

In 2018, we plan to implement other scientific interactions modes to continue our discussions and thinking on specific topics at other times of the year, for example through webinars.

Finally, the GMP Committee will also have an in depth review of both the format and content of our annual symposiums for 2019 and 2020. This could include the potential participation of other scientific associations. We will keep you informed of all these activities during the year.

Do not forget to save the dates of our Annual Symposium on October 17 to 19th 2018 (see at the bottom of page 2). As you know, this will be the 30th anniversary of the GMP and we are hoping that each of you will attend.

Best wishes for the New Year.

Marc Trellu, president GMP.
