An Introduction to Fast and Reliable Modeling with RsNLME and Agentic AI

Population PK/PD modeling is a core skill for today’s pharmacometrician, but workflows can be time-consuming, technically demanding, and difficult to scale. RsNLME (R Speaks NLME) addresses this by bringing Certara’s powerful NLME engine directly into the R environment, giving modelers the flexibility of open-source R with the reliability of an industry-standard modeling engine, supporting both GUI and command-line workflows and seamlessly integrating with R’s tidyverse ecosystem.

Its QRPEM estimation algorithm delivers proven numerical stability even for complex, high-dimensional models where other platforms struggle, and because model coding, estimation, diagnostics, and simulation all live within a single R-based ecosystem, there is no need to maintain parallel code across tools.

In this 2.5 hour hands-on workshop, you will get a practical introduction to population PK/PD modeling with RsNLME, from exploratory data analysis through covariate modeling, goodness of fit diagnostics, and VPC generation.

As a special highlight, we will also give you a first look at something new: an agentic AI workflow built on top of RsNLME. Powered by an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server bundled directly into RsNLME, this capability allows AI agents such as Cursor or Claude to execute full pharmacometric workflows end to end, from EDA to model selection to final diagnostics, simply by describing what you want to do in plain language.
